I’m sitting here on the threshold of a new beginning. I’m about to begin communicating Mick Hanly info via a new medium called WordPress. I’d much prefer to be doing this communicating eye to eye, but since betimes, I can’t even remember my children’s names, this business is a lot safer.
The beauty of this medium is: I can do it myself. I don’t have to rely on unreliable web-managers, who get back to me two days after the gig to tell me they’ve put that date up? I can now answer those requests for song lyrics, (the many requests for ‘Open Those Gates’, for example), post upcoming gig dates, and now and then bring you reports from the song-writing garret (it’s a tedious process, so forgive me if, from time to time I spice it up with some hurling trivia or local small town gossip).
For now, my priority is to get the message of my ‘Coming To A Village Near You’ project to as many communities and villages as I can. To that end, I’ve given the project its own column on the site called Village Project.
There are other columns on the site, About Me, Archives, etc, which will gradually fill up over the coming weeks and months, and if they don’t, I’ll be keeping you posted as to why. Most importantly, I’ll be keeping you Posted.
So, if there is any piece of musical info about Mick Hanly that you would like to know, please get in touch…at the end of the day, if you keep your distance, I’m very approachable,
Mick.
